4 Ways To Avoid Filipino Dating Scams

Back in the 90’s, online dating is something that you hide from everyone even your family. It was viewed as something that is out of norm and just felt wrong to the masses. However, with the advent of internet, especially the social networking sites, things have changed.

Online dating these days is a common activity for many people, especially for those who have low self-esteem and those who don’t fare well mingling with people. Online dating gave way for such people to be able to express themselves first through their inner quality without being judged of the physical appearance.

Many western men like the exotic beauty that can only be found in the oriental countries, especially Southeast Asia. Philippines is one of the common destinations of men from the west who seek love outside of their own country.

But seeking out that love via online can be elusive if not dangerous. Crimes done on the internet such as theft and scam, have become a common news. The same is true when it comes to online dating where creating a fake identity takes only less than 5 minutes.

Here are 4 big things to do to avoid those Filipina dating scams.

First and foremost, check the credential of the Filipina dating site. Is it legit? Does it have the proper pages stating the company information and where you can contact them not only via internet but also through the telephone? This is to make sure that there really is someone on the other side. Legit dating companies or sites would always include these vital information for everybody to view.

Second, check the identity of the person whom you are trying to communicate to before committing into doing something serious. Most online dating scammers would not bother to fill the necessary information that would prove their identity. If they pass that first test, test and see if they are coherent with the information that they have indicated on their profile page. It is easy to spot if the person is lying, simply by catching how they keep up with your questions. Last thing to do for this part, if everything checks out fine, is to ask for a webcam viewing. After all to see is to believe.

Third thing to watch out for even if the identity of the person or the date has been proven, is the “quick love” scenario. This is a very common scene on the online dating world. The prospect date that is a scammer, would almost always fall in love immediately to its prey even if they had just met a few hours ago. If you think that your prospect date has fallen in love with you way too fast, most often than not, it is a red flag that tells you to steer clear as danger lies ahead. It is not too hard for many to be deceived once they are shown of bogus “love and affection”, especially if they have never been into a serious relationship at all. As some might say, it is not only by heart that you decide but you also need to use your brain when it comes to relationship.

Finally, the most important of all, never give out money before the first meet. This part is the bounty for many scammers out there, the money. Many online dating scammers would immediately ask for money once they see that they have lured you into their trap. They would ask it as if they are in need of financial help, and the money would be used for things that has to with your fresh and developing relationship. This tip is one of the “first-things-first” that you need to know when you are out on the internet searching for love.

These things are not hard to keep in mind. As simple as they may sound, they will save you from a lot of trouble if you exercise them properly whenever you engage into Filipino dating sites.

it made me think about my friend from China dating Russian girl – he sent her money for ‘passport and ticket’ so she can fly to see him and once she got money he never seen her again :/

I think most Filipina ladies seeking foreign men is because they want to come to the West to change their future. Thousands of Filipino girls come to the West every year. Many of them accept older men as well.

Some Filipino women using mail order brides or free Asian dating sites to scam men’s money, which is not right. I think men in the West should not send them money. Love is supposed to be free. Don’t believe in such sob stories.
